This December our SEL team invites you to participate in a schoolwide event:
Understanding & Inclusion — Holiday Living Museum
What we’re asking:
• Share an artifact, photo, or short written note that represents a holiday or cultural tradition you choose to represent.
• Items can be personal or classroom-based (photos, small objects, cultural symbols, recipe cards, short stories, etc.).
• Include a one‑sentence label explaining the item and its cultural significance.
Purpose:
• Increase cultural awareness and respect for diverse holiday traditions across our community.
• Celebrate learning and inclusion by giving everyone a chance to see and honor different customs.
Important dates:
• Submit items by: Wednesday, 12/17/25 (drop off at Room 111 or email a photo/description to ssuggsbrown@schools.nyc.gov)
• Living Museum on display: Friday, 12/19/25 — view during lunch periods & free time
Guidelines:
• Keep items small, non‑valuable, and clearly labeled with your name/class (or submit anonymously).
• We cannot be responsible for lost or damaged items; photos or laminated descriptions are recommended.
• If your item requires special handling, please coordinate with the SEL team in advance.
We welcome contributions from students, teachers, and staff. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn from one another and strengthen our school community through understanding and inclusion.
Please contact me in Room 111 or email ssuggsbrown@schools.nyc.gov with questions or to arrange a drop‑off.
Thank you — we look forward to your submissions!
