  • Paid Internship Opportunity Museum of the Moving Image- Teen Council

🎬   Teen Council is a job development program for NYC teens interested in audiovisual and media arts who want a behind-the-scenes look at how a media museum works. As part of the Teen Digital Media Innovators program, Teen Council members curate and program public events for youth, including film festivals, media workshops, and other activities. This paid opportunity includes mentorship from museum media educators, filmmakers, actors, and museum programmers. MoMI’s Teen Council was established as a workforce development initiative for youth, increasing the presence of teen voices in the Museum’s programming and educational offerings.

🎞️  Every year, a cohort of fifteen to twenty Teen Council members collaborate with other NYC teens to help shape the Museum’s offerings for teens with the Teen Digital Media Innovators program and take a leadership role with the Teen Film Festival and youth-led community engagement at Museum of the Moving Image. Council members receive hands-on learning to shape an active space for youth interested in curating, public programing, and the overall day-to-day operations of an arts and cultural organization, and they will gain real-world experience in the hybrid craft of organizing and project management while exploring the history and technology of the moving image.

📽️  Teen Council is a job development program and provides a stipend upon completion.
